Ivano Dionigi is Professor Emeritus of Latin Language and Literature at the University of Bologna, where he served as Chancellor (Rector Magnificus) from 2009 to 2015. His research interests have focused in particular on the relationship between Greek and Roman thought, between paganism and Christianity, between the sciences and the humanities. He has written extensively on Lucretius and Seneca.
