Palazzo Sardagna, current home of the offices of the Rectorate of the University of Trento, is one of the masterpieces of Mannerism and early Baroque in Trentino. Dating from the 16th century, the building is built around a large central courtyard, the largest among those found in the city's historic buildings. From the exterior, walking through the entrance hall embellished with heraldic coats of arms, one enters the courtyard punctuated by a double order of loggias and long galleries.

Federico Boffa is professor of Applied Economics at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, a member of the Scientific Committee of the Einaudi Center, and coordinator of the outreach committee of the Italian Economic Association. His research focuses on industrial economics—particularly energy and transport—and on political economy.

Alessandra Bonfiglioli is Full Professor of Economics at the University of Bergamo and Research Fellow of CEPR and Centro Luca d’Agliano. Her current research studies the effects of robots and Artificial Intelligence on labor markets, economic performance, international trade and the environment. Carlo Cambini is a Full Professor of Applied Economics at the Politecnico di Torino. His research focuses on the study of markets, forms of public intervention in the economy, and the evaluation of public policies. He served as an economic expert at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers from May 2021 to September 2022.

Rocco Cerone is a journalist and writer, as well as the regional secretary of the Journalists’ Union of Trentino-Alto Adige. For the past 10 years, he has collaborated with Unibz on the development of a multi-year series of meetings titled “Economy and Journalism.” Together with Unibz, he has created “The Bolzano Charter on AI and Information: the Role of Journalism and Education.”

Rocco Cerone

Giacomo A. M. Ponzetto is a Senior Researcher at CREI and a professor at Pompeu Fabra University and the Barcelona School of Economics. He has also been a Visiting Professor at Harvard, where he earned his PhD in 2009. His research interests include political economics, economic geography and international trade.
